Some collections begin with a silhouette. El Retablo begins with a story: one shaped by the people, rituals and everyday life of the Andes.

A Story Woven Through Time

Tradition, memory and contemporary design

For Spring/Summer 2027, Peruvian designer Jorge Luis Salinas turns to the retablo: a small, handmade scene that holds a world within it. People, celebrations, faith and daily life come together in this Andean art form, carrying memories from one generation to the next.

Salinas brings that idea into fashion through layered textures, delicate transparency and hand-worked crochet. Fine Pima cotton and organza give the collection a sense of lightness, while capes, short dresses and generous silhouettes let the craftsmanship take centre stage.

Una storia intrecciata nel tempo

Tradizione, memoria e design contemporaneo

“Fashion can keep memory alive—and give it a new form.”

Made by Hand, Rooted in Peru

The value of the artisan’s work

The collection’s colour palette draws on the vitality of the Andes: turquoise, blue, pistachio and yellow meet coral, orange and shades of violet. Crochet bags and clutches, together with leather shoes finished with crochet and floral details, carry the same artisanal language into the accessories.

The work of J.SALINAS is closely connected to Peru’s artisan communities and to the women who preserve techniques passed down through generations. In El Retablo, every handmade detail reminds us that craftsmanship is knowledge carried through time—and a living part of culture.

With this collection, Jorge Luis Salinas brings the identity of Peru into a contemporary conversation with the world. The result feels both intimate and expansive: a wardrobe shaped by memory, made for the present.
